Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 10am – 4pm

How can I schedule an appointment?

Where is the Digital Writing Studio located?
The DWS is located on the Modesto Maidique Campus on the fourth floor of our Deuxieme Maison (DM) building, room 471.
Who is eligible to use the DWS?
Eligibility to use the DWS is limited to current FIU students, faculty, and administration.
What services are provided at the DWS?
The DWS can help fine tune your projects and propel them to a professional level. Using different skills and effective theories, we help you to understand how to make digital media more appealing to the audience while finalizing a professional document.
Are walk-in appointments available?
Walk-in appointments are available on M/W/F. Availability is subject to scheduling. Please check the Appointment page for further instructions on scheduling a consultation.
Can I bring a group with me?
Group work is permitted in the DWS, please note that appointments are strongly recommended with groups larger than four.
What should I bring with me to the DWS?
You may bring project files, such as PowerPoint presentations and original high-resolution images used in your media. Project information as well as any class documentation that may help in clarifying your objective requirements may also be useful during your consultation.
Will my professor know I came to the DWS?
If an appointment is a requirement or extra credit for your course then please notify the consultant so we can provide you with proof of your visit.
May I request a certain consultant/instructor?
Yes, eventually when there are more consultants you will be able to include your request while making your appointment.
English is not my primary language; can the DWS still help me?
Yes, we can accommodate your language needs. If you are a Spanish speaker and wish for your consultation to be in Spanish please indicate this request when making your appointment with us.
What type of software is available for consultation at the DWS?
Apple software, such as, Garage band, iMovie, iPhoto. Microsoft software such as the Office Suite. Adobe products such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop as well.
